The dream of mental ‘vikas’!

New India, Viksit Bharat, and Mission 2047 are some of the famous terms in this election. The present government has committed itself to making India a developed nation till 2047. Being high at all major indexes of the world is undoubtedly a matter of pride. What should India look like? How will this developed India differ according to individuals? How are we going to make this place a better place to live? This blog shall deal with the fundamentals of Viksit Bharat.

The dream

Indian society is made up of composite cultures. A variety of castes, classes, genders, and languages do exist here. Thus, it must be a sure fact that the idea of ‘Viksit Bharat’ will not be the same for everyone. It will have a variety of interpretations. When this government first promised ‘ acche din’ it was a slogan to bind these dreams together.

However, this fact later became apparent that the meaning of ‘ acche din’ will be different for all individuals. The dream here was to make an economy that has a major contribution to world GDP. We had a dream to make an equitable society where the disparity of income distribution can be removed. The dream was to make farming a profitable business in this country. A well-developed nourishing education, availability of quality health, a good connectivity and infrastructure.

The dream was to have development from the village level for a rise of power from grass root level. The digitalization of the country and the efficient use of AI are matters of discussion now. Every Individual has different meanings for development. Where a wealthy and satisfied life are the things which are common for all. How far have we moved ahead towards these goals? Insofar psychology and mental health are respected in this vision? How satisfied are those nations who have attained these goals? We need a brief scrutiny here.

Mental health: How viable to dream

However, the missing component here in this dream is the care for meant health of individuals. 8.3 % of the total US population has symptoms of depression. The USA is known for its influence, power and wealth.

Till the individualistic society, there is unable to deal with their minds. 46 million people (about twice the population of New York), a report suggests, are suffering from depression. It means one out of every seven people is a patient with mental illness. This is rapidly inflating, especially after the COVID-19 burst.

However, while speaking about the development of the nation, we barely accept that the mind also has its health like any other part of the body. Finland has a total GDP of 28,289.63 crores in 2022 and per capita is 50 916.28 US dollars in 2022. India has a total GDP of 3.42 lakh crores US dollars and per capita is 2410.89 US dollars.

However, Finland is the happiest country in the world happiness index. The low crime levels, free education and health care are some of the aspects that make it a happy country. We are not comparing both countries here as the population also differs thus comparison is not statistically correct. However, the thing that is apparent here is that there is a low correlation between the overall economy and the happiness of the country.

The need

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Earth has enough for everyone’s need but not for anyone’s greed” and this makes us think about what should be the priority of this nation. Economic growth is undoubtedly important in its way however we will not succeed until we make this development holistic. Until we don’t include mental health as an important aspect of policy formation, we will make this country a bunch of wealthy and depressed people. It is high time that we brought mental health into the limelight. The entire productivity of individuals too depends on the level of mental health one holds.

A dream of a happy country

Thus, we can say that what we need is a happy country. We are required to normalize mental illness same as physical illness if we want a nation free of crime. Criminals are not born but brought up to commit a crime. If we succeed in having a healthy environment even for the poorest person in the nation, we can reduce the crime rate. Law and punishment are not at all any remedy to reduce crime. It is just a sword to maintain social balance. Crime requires psychological solutions.

To see a happy nation is the foremost goal that we must dream of. Collectivistic culture is a boon for us that can be used to reform society. It is high time that we employ psychologists wherever they are required. This corporate culture also needs reforms in its working conditions.

Thus, in a nutshell, I see developed nations as more sympathetic nations. A nation that is happy and mentally healthy. A society that knows its limits has novel energy to work. Where youth need not protest for their jobs. Where students need not go to court to get justice in their examination. A place where the role of psychologists is respected. 2047 is a dream of a nation where we possess equal responsibility.

INTRODUCTION:
Art and morality came into existence because morality assist in changing the state of being from selfish to un selfish attitude, which lapses into art, letting us escape empirical reality by providing ideal world. Art experience is something of a realizable experience and it is a synthesis that is, it is unitive, Synthesis comprehensively, compromising attitude. It is in its unitiveness, That it leads to creativity in Indian context, the same truth which is it is such Anand and comprehensive and absolute Brahman in the normal context it is called as: “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” Let us understand the suspect, which is given by philosopher Mysore Hiriyanna.

MAIN BODY:
Philosophers have stated that the ultimate objective of philosophic quest is not knowledge as much as it has been the ultimate freedom. Indian philosophy is a way of life and thought, and like ethics, aesthetics depend majorly on philosophy, aiming at influencing life. He questions as to whether there has been such a kinder kinship relationship between these two aspects. He raises these questions that it could be the case that while knowing what is good, we have ignored what is beautiful, which means that we have neglected the other Indian aesthetics is based on two main views that are as follows:

The soul doctrine of Upanishadic School, that the ultimate reality is not external, but rather Internal to the man’s own self and world of sensory perception is at best appearance of the ultimate truth- Brahman satya, jagat mithya; The second idea is the ultimate goal has to be realized in this world. This marks the highest conception of the freedom and to live a harmony, peace, and a life in which we do not have to distinguish our interest, but rather expand them, we need to have a passion, less purity, and equal love and respect for all of these things. This is influenced Indian theory of art. But how exactly these two things have casted they are impression on the Indian aesthetic theory that is very interesting. So now let us see that.

He give the example of the first poet in the case of “Bahama, vamana, Dandin” And said that the Pracīn School of poetry dealt with dosas, gunas and alamkaras, They believed in the outward expression of poetry, which is the word, and the sense known as, shabda and artha. We had doasa and Gunas What cons of excellence in poetic art is absence of one and presence of the other.
However, in the case of Navīna school, As they have given the instance of Dhvanyāloka, In this, they believe that, Navīna school Pointed out that whatever in sound sub serves the poetic end in view is called as Gunas And whatever does not is called as doasa; It could be argued that they have expanded the definitions which were provided by Pracīn school.

The artistic expression conveys, imaginative or emotive mode, Art represents the spontaneous expression of responsive mind when it is under the influence of imaginative or emotive mood. It was found that there is a peculiar fitness in the emotive mood to convey tea chains, and also to please. Poetry had two aims. The first one was direct, which is giving of a static pleasure known as sadhyaparanvrtti, And the indirect one is of contributing to the refinement of the character, the case of Emotive mood (Rasa) Was that it can do both of these ideas. Fill the poetry with both of these points equally and express. These two identities sign significantly within any poetic material made this mood more important than vastu or alamkara, This is the major change when we have the Sanskrit point, which states that rasa Is the Atman of the poetry” This shows the dependence of this idea on the doctrine of Ātman, which has been leveled by upanishadic school.

According to the view of Vedanta, they say that Rasa has the immediate aim of pure delight and enjoyment, but the beauty is disclosed only to the inward ice as it has been contended by Hiriyanna, That “true beauty is neither expressive words nor noble objectively, it can only be realized.” In the case of Sankhya School, we find that the aesthetic attitude is characterized as forgetting because it is an escape from the natural empirical practical world. The difference could be further pointed out that the one reveals best in nature and the other reveals something better than nature.

CONCLUSION:
The poet ideas the object in depicting them, and it is in this process, they are realized and raised to the level of art and acquire aesthetic significance. By providing the example of kalidasa, bhavabhuti’s Uttar-Rama-caritra, Hiriyanna Attempts to say that the emotional situation portrait has been absorbed by this expression, and it has resulted in the aesthetic pleasure of rasa, i.e. hridaya samvada in tanmayibhavana causing in Rasāmubhava. This has completely concluded the Indian aesthetic theory, which has been Postulated by M. Hiriyanna.

While the government is trying hard to hide the horrifying figures of the increase in the number of cases as well as deaths caused by the COVID-19 virus, it is no surprise that India’s healthcare system is not equipped to handle the second wave of covid-19 cases.

Major cities, including Mumbai and Delhi, have imposed stringent restrictions on movement as new infections in the country crossed 2,00,000 on April 16. While the privileged people are safe in their homes. More than 80% of the population still does not have any significant health insurance coverage and approximately 68% of the Indian population has limited or no access to essential medicines.

Describing the current situation of patients asking for hospital beds, there exists the issue of unavailability of beds in most of the private hospitals. Even in the emergency wards, the cost of one bed which would earlier be around Rs. 30000 has been raised twice or thrice to Rs. 100000. Hospitals giving wrong information or turning away patients is another cause that fuels this issue.

In this dire situation, even getting medicines for patients who are in home isolation is proving to be a tough task. Either the medicine is not available in the market or if it is there, it is available at a much higher price. Remdesivir, a crucial drug for the treatment of COVID-19, is being sold at the price of Rs 12,000 per vial against the printed price of Rs 4500. The desperate people have no other option but to purchase these vials to save themselves or their loved ones.

Another medicine named Covifor is out of stock most of the time. Even basic medicine like Zinc tablets, Vit D and Vit C are in short supply. The demand for these medicines is high because the government has advised people to take them.

While these are tough times, it is necessary that everyone stays at home and follow all safety precautions. Spread awareness about the availability of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders as well as essential drugs like Remdesivir, Covifor, etc. However, do not spread misinformation and avoid creating a sense of panic or discomfort among people.

Educational institutions, including schools, colleges and coaching centres across the country are closed since PM Modi in March announced the nation-wide lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus which has afflicted over 3 million people in the country, while nearly 57,000 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.

However, many activities have been resumed since then under the phase-wise upliftment of the lockdown, but schools and colleges remain closed affecting the studies of the children across the country. The main question raised by many people, especially students, amid this pandemic is when will schools and colleges reopen.

After the onset of lockdown , every ministry has suffered a setback especially the education department in particular . Since then, teaching and educational activities have resorted to online methods, whose reach has been limited of the uneven availability of smart-devices, specifically in the country’s hinterland.

According to a report in Economic Times, the specifics of the plan have been formulated by the group of secretaries associated with the Group of Ministers (GoM) on COVID-19 management, which is being headed by Health Minister and Member of Parliament from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, Dr Harsh Vardhan

With every country dealing with the crisis and trying to adapt best possible means through each others examples , India seems to be following the same trail .  The government officials have studied the countries such as Switzerland have brought back the students to classrooms, and the formulation has been designed on similar lines as for the classroom teaching of Indian students as it is being said .
